Solitude or Small Meditations

An exercise in meditating on the poetics of form, born from moments of daily introspection. Colors, textures, geometries, and lines combine, simply, to give shape to the images that inhabit my imagination.

The 30 illustrations grew from a practice: returning to the discipline of drawing, every day, the essential elements of my life. Drawing has been my language since childhood, my first form of expression and the way I recognize and understand reality. Each piece took me further than I expected, opening themes, cultures, and combinations of form that expanded my visual vocabulary and my awareness of their symbolic dimension.

Solitude XXII: a serpent winding around a vertical staff.
Solitude XXIII: a striped mask framed by a square pattern.
Solitude XXIV: a face crowned with a radiating lotus of petals.
